Nineteen-year-old Farren Bray doesn’t have a choice but to use rest vials after her parents’ deaths left her struggling with insomnia and debt. Buying her sleep allows her to work a full 150-hour week and survive in a fast-moving city.

But a mysterious entity called the Shroud is spreading on the continent, killing people in their sleep. The price of rest vials goes through the roof and a lot of people, including Farren, can no longer afford sleep.
